Starting Membership advertising in April? Here’s why you’re too late
1 minute read
1st April: The most popular date for membership renewals in the UK.
Mid March: Reminder renewal letters go out.
Early March: First renewal letter goes out, and many members renew early.
See where we’re going with this…?
If increasing your golf club memberships is a key focus this year, don’t wait until April to start advertising – you’ll be missing a key period to attract interest from members at other clubs who are open to a change (before they commit to another year where they are).
February was our 2nd best membership sales month in 2025, and March was #1.
Why? Because all of our clients were advertising from the start of the year and attracted hundreds of enquiries between January and March.
It’s not too late – start advertising NOW and get a jump on your competitors and start making early season membership sales.
P.s. DON’T panic – there will be many good sales opportunities throughout the year, and not all clubs have a 1st April renewal date.
But, DO get started as soon as you can as most new members take weeks to turn from an enquiry into a member, so it’s vital to capture their interest before they commit to their current club for another year.
Takeaway: Get ahead of your competitors. Start advertising now.
