Are you advertising for Christmas too late?
1 minute read
Households spend on average around £1,000 on Christmas each year, and even the smallest businesses spend £100s. So, Christmas lunches, dinners, quizzes, and other events are great ways to add to your club’s bottom line.
But, leave advertising them too late and customers that could be yours will spend their money at another venue or, even worse, one of your competitors.
How can we be sure? Because we’ve worked with more than 100 golf clubs in the last decade, and seen it first-hand time and again.
Below is an example of what one client is offering their customers this year. We started advertising in early August, and several of these events are almost sold out already (at the start of September).
Case in point – customers are already committing to Christmas events.
The advertising for these events is bringing in enquires at a cost of just £1.79 each.
With bookings often fetching more than £30 per head, you do the maths…
Get your Christmas events out there, and get the out there quick.
Concept to consider: Meet Santa Christmas lunch
This is a great one for families, and really brings the Christmas vibes.
Grab a friendly member of staff. Hire a Santa costume. Choose a date. You’re half way there.
Instruct your caterers to come up with the most cost-effective way to deliver a tasty Christmas lunch for all the family. Calculate capacity. Set your price. And start advertising.
(But not with leaflet drops, please!)
Consider giving Santa a sack of small gifts or a little takeaway to top it off, and give it the personal Christmas touches that reflect your facility to make it a day to remember.
And, don’t forget to collect the contact information from all adults so when next August rolls around you can contact them to get them booked in again…
Good luck, and don’t wait much longer before you start to put it out there.
